Terms of Service

1. Who we are
Abrevity is a trade name of La Hucha Holding B.V., based in Strijen, Chamber of Commerce number 67865860. Contact: support@abrevity.com.
2. The service
Abrevity offers an online service that lets you record or upload conversations with family members, which we convert (with the help of AI) into transcripts, interview questions and stories, and, if desired, into a printed book. The service is provided as described on the site; we make efforts to provide high-quality transcription and text, but AI output may contain imperfections. You can review and edit everything yourself before anything becomes final.
3. Your account and your content
Your account is personal. All content you provide or that is created for you, including recordings, transcripts, stories and the book, remains yours. We receive only the license technically needed to provide the service. You warrant that you have permission from the people you record and that your content does not infringe the rights of others.
4. Prices and payment
Our prices may vary; you always see the current price in the booking module on the site before you pay. The price shown when you complete your order is the price that applies to you; later price changes do not affect it. All prices include VAT. Payment is handled through our payment provider.
5. Right of withdrawal
The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies to the digital service; this expires once you expressly ask us to begin processing your recordings within that period. A printed book is custom work (made according to your specifications) and is therefore legally excluded from withdrawal; in case of printing or binding defects, we will of course provide a replacement at no cost.
6. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. We are not liable for the content of your stories. Please also keep your own copies of recordings that cannot be replaced.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time; download your stories and books first. We may terminate accounts in cases of misuse (such as unlawful content or infringement of the rights of others), with a warning where reasonable.
8. Changes
We may change these terms; for material changes, we will inform you by email. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.
9. Applicable law
Dutch law applies; disputes are brought before the competent court of the Rotterdam District Court, without prejudice to mandatory consumer law.
